Yes, we need a disclaimer. Thank you for reading ours.

First of all, this show IS NOT intended to be legal advice. Second, it is not intended to in any way replace the advice and judgment of a licensed lawyer. Because every case and situation is unique, only a licensed lawyer can offer legal advice which is appropriate for your situation. However, if you feel you need a lawyer, contact one who is licensed to practice in your area and is familiar with your type of case. Further, a local lawyer is often a good choice for most cases. But don’t be afraid to take to the Internet if your case is unique. And don’t be afraid to check their credentials and ask them questions. However, on our show, representation should be neither inferred nor implied!

Furthermore, in the United States, the Constitution offers some very important protections for all citizens. People accused of crimes need these protections! Hence, if you are involved in a criminal matter, and you cannot afford a lawyer, you are entitled BY LAW to have representation appointed. They will handle your case. In addition, this is almost always via legal aid. However, if you are involved in a civil matter and you cannot afford a lawyer, you can seek pro bono representation. Legal Services is one place to start.

So these are our opinions. We gladly welcome yours, along with your feedback. This includes corrections if we have gotten anything wrong or if anything seems to be at all confusing or misleading. We love to talk about the law, scholarship, and fandom. And we really love to talk about how these seemingly rather different areas collide in somewhat surprising ways. Thank you for listening, reading, and commenting.

You are why we do this.
